We've all had that moment where stuff gets a deep discount not too soon after we've bought it. Everyone else who was also debating making that same purchase but didn't is now thanking you for being the one to make the sacrifice and pay full price to enable the discount to happen 🫑

It's a Victorian distribution centre where the strikes are happening, I suspect WA would have their own separate centres given the distance from coast to coast, so unless their workers join the blockade there probably won't be much interruption there.

Will second Doki Doki Literature Club. Undertale should also be on this list I feel.

Better than me, I only managed 28/50 πŸ˜… Once the answers came up I did know the rest, but could I think of them when doing the quiz? Not a chance.

The fact that clicking the link takes you to a 404 page definitely helps with the whole "accidentally" bit.

Anyone know if the story turned out to be false and got deleted or if it's just a dud link?

Sunk cost fallacy is probably the most obvious one that springs to mind. Not unlike gambling in a sense, people feel they just need one big payout to win it all back and then some, so they keep betting, hoping that this time things will go in their favour.

Pretty sure I'm O+, I've got that basic blood. But I got blacklisted when I was younger from donating, first time I went in I managed to get knocked out and go into full convulsions (unfortunately was there with my mum and it traumatised her for a bit afterwards πŸ˜…). Few weeks later I got a letter basically telling me thank you for coming but please don't come again.

It used to in the past. It was removed in the 0.19.0 release. This is the pull request that took it out (I think).

This thread has some of the reasoning for it, but at a high level the Lemmy devs made a call that the benefits a karma system provide didn't outweigh the problems a karma system can cause.

Because your brain now remembers it needs to breath and not to eat 5 day old bread! Remember to thank your sleep paralysis demon for the good advice 😊

It isn't, but it's like when you have someone that everyone knows has ADHD who finally gets a diagnosis. It's good for everyone that it's finally on record and they can get the support they need.

Actually I don't know if that last bit will happen for Pauline πŸ€”
