I hope he does something Vs I think we should do something

It's a pretty straight forward distinction if you understand words

Hmm yes, cheap food, and a vibrant night life. Coupled with 90% home ownership. All hallmarks of an oppressed working class.

I'm sure they're dying to pay £4.50 for a shitty ham sandwich and forking over half their wages every month to a landlord.

I'm currently in 兴义市。What does your Chinese wife have to say about China? My experience is that Chinese expats who have criticisms of China tend to be from rather wealthy families who have issues with the regulations in China. They move to the west because it's a lot easier to exploit the working class, both in their adopted country, and in the global South.

I find that their sob stories about lack of freedom revolve around their lack of freedom to do whatever the hell they want. My girlfriend's brother fits into this category. A millionaire crypto bro who thinks China is an authoritarian hellhole because it puts limits on his outrageous and unproductive speculation and ambitions to be a landlord. That's ok though, because he's able to exploit as many Western workers as he likes, stealing their labour value and "providing" them housing by buying it all up and selling it back to them at outrageously inflated prices. What freedom.

Fucking hell.

My neighbour has been protesting this bullshit every Wednesday and Saturday for years and years and years. He went down super early today for this announcement. And once again they are just kicking the can down the road. This is incredibly illegal, and fucking outrageous. The man has been illegally detained in Belmarsh for 5 fucking years! He spent 7 years in an embassy. This is nothing short of torture. They are even offering him plea deals now so that they can claim a moral victory and not be sued in return.

Fuck everything about the west. Stop killing Julian Assange.

I mean, the US was stirring up shit on their doorstep for nearly a decade, backing a coup and then dangling NATO membership over the noses of the new puppet government. What did they expect to happen (p.s. they knew exactly what would happen, the US wanted a war)?

And I mean, if the US can start wars half way across the world to protect its borders and interests I don't think they can be too surprised if another power does the same thing in their own front yard.

Regardless, I find the NATO malding utterly delicious. US about to lose yet another war.

They are trying so hard to hide the reality of Ukraine's situation that the article makes absolutely no sense. The map at the top of the article has no relation to what the headline says, and the article itself is just a list of events with no actual analysis.

Also, were apparently supposed to care that Putin targeted a maternity ward and civilian targets, whilst at the same time not care that Israel has annihilated hospitals and civilian targets in Gaza.

This is unironically the doublespeak of 1984.

We care about this sort of stuff. More than non-bear/grad users judging by the replies you are recieving.

We like to stick up for each other. It's a shame your community doesn't have that.

I would argue that a postal service is not structured the same way as an on demand service like uber.

A postal courier who arrives at your door, picks up an important document, and takes it straight to the recipient will cost about the same.

When you write a letter or send a parcel you first take it to a designated pick up point. It is then picked up at an allocated time along with all the other letters and parcels, and at best it is going to arrive the next day having been through a huge sorting routing system at the post depot.

Apples and oranges.

Also fuck uber eats and the gig economy.

They do actually allow protests. Western media was having a fucking field day earlier this year talking about how China had bowed to pressure from protests regarding their covid policy.

Jesus titty fucking H Christ...

It's ok not to know. I think it's extremely odd to think most people would know.
