How absurdly reductive.

It's not about, "word use", it's about protecting the most vulnerable of our children.

Stop trolling, we see right through your reductive nonsense.

You know what matters a lot more than balancing budgets? Defining public transit as a true public service and making sure the people who depend on it the most, those who have few other options to get to where they need to be, have transit available to them when they need it at a cost they can afford.

This is the problem. Public transit is seen as a service used by poor people. In Europe public transit is used by everyone because it is the best, fastest option to get to where you are going. When I travel to London I take the train from the airport to Victoria station them walk to my hotel. Everywhere else I go is by tube or by train. I have never rented a car and only hired a van when I had a group of people and a bunch of luggage to move a long distance.

If public transit worked (Ottawa LRT anyone?) and we stopped making traveling by car convenient, people would use public transit.

Everyone needs to calm the fuck down. Sure there isn't enough of our tax money left to pay to get our kids to school but Doug Ford had ouch left to build a $400 million parking garage for a private spa being built on private land under a 99 year secret lease. I'm not sure day everyone is at host about. He also managed to give his rich developer friends a $8 billion Dr during a national housing crisis to build million dollar homes far away from city centers where they're desperately needed.

Using the notwithstanding clause is an admission that the law is unconstitutional.

Scott Moe is a christofascist.

...while the Conservatives are focused on christofascist virtue signaling.

Vote better, Canada.

Despite what Canada's nation hating extreme right would have you believe.

When the protagandist, shills, trolls, and apologists come and say that never happened you'll need this.

As it should be.

The problem is that every single thing a Conservative does is designed to look like is helping the common man when its actually helping the wealthy and corporations. Dig for us going to make land available for 50,000 units of urban sprawl? Million dollar houses that only the upper middle class can afford and 8 billion dollars of benefit to his wealthy friends. They weave a good story that the least of us believe while the entire time funneling billions and billions of dollars of the tax money paid by the least of us to the wealthiest of us and corporations. What we need is good management and good social programs. We're not going to get that combination from either party so I would rather have social programs while they try to figure it out.

Conservatives spend $400 million on a parking garage for a private spa being built on public land with a secret 99 year lease but school boards can't afford to bus kids to school.

Conservatives give $8 billion benefit to a few wealthy developer friends of Doug Ford, get called out by the auditor in a scathing report, Steve Clark is abjectly incompetent but throws his Chief of Staff under the bus.

Oh look...neo-fascist virtue signaling targeting the LQBTQ community to distract everyone from the depths of their corruption!

I was in Spain at the beginning of the pandemic. The bodies they were stacking in the back of army trucks because their mortuary system had collapsed were not fine.

Willing to be cut open, have an organ removed, and replaced with an organ from a dead person but not willing to have a safe and effective vaccine because it became part of her political identity. I suspect that it was ego that prevented her from accepting the vaccine once she had made up her mind.

We're abjectly corrupt and morally and ethically bankrupt but we're not criminal!

  • Doug Ford

Our local school boards can't get a transportation deal with the school bus companies because Doug Ford was to busy worrying about building a $400 million parking garage for a private spa being built on public land with a secret 99 year lease and giving billions of dollars worth of gifts to his rich developer buddies to properly fund school transportation.

Vote these corrupt assholes out.

I know it sounds dumb that the butter chicken kit contains neither butter nor chicken but trust me, they're awesome.

Homemade Naan (lemmy.ca)

I'm working on making decent naan at home. My Indian coworkers are trying to help. It was better the second day after fermenting overnight. I hope that bread flour and a new recipe will improve it even more.

Our property is covered with wild raspberry, will black raspberry, and wild blackberry cane. I picked these this morning. I got about 500 ml (2 c) of berries. I've tinned them and will freeze them until I can pick more over the next few days. Then...I'll make black raspberry jam!

Maybe.

I don't know.

My wife normally makes jam but she's away for the weeks. Maybe I'll give it a go.

My daughter bakes these quite often. I love them.

They are a Betty Crocker recipe.

Every year we smoke a few ducks for our farm customers. My family love smoked duck so I do a couple for us as well.

When there is leftover duck meat my wife will put it on a pizza or into a soup. On this occasion she made smoked duck gravy with the pan drippings. French fries, squeaky cheese curds, and pulled smoked duck topped with smoked duck gravy. It was pretty tasty.

No recipe for this one, sorry. I followed Mandy's recipe from Souped Up Recipes on YouTube. I just liked this picture.
