$150 for the WinRAR bag. $250 for a varsity jacket. Look, the designs are cool, but it appears that once again I will not be paying for WinRAR.

(Besides, I use 7zip nowadays)

Edit: seriously; a $150 bag and they can't be assed to use a real buckle.

Hezbollah uses pagers for communication. Israel intercepted shipments of pagers and rigged them with bombs. Then, an unspecified amount of time later, Israel detonated them during the day, yanno, when people would be out and about in public places. Thousands of bombs went off across Lebanon and killed and injured children, elderly people, and adults.

Of course, mainstream media is trying to pretend that Israel didn't potentially commit what should be considered a warcrime while assholes on social media are spinning this as a masterfully precise and accurate strike that didn't have a considerable amount of collateral (I've literally seen someone say "only people with something to hide would be around a pager in this day and age" verbatim), and that anyone injured or killed was a member of Hezbollah.

Like, what if one of those had been on a plane when it went off?

When ISIS plants bombs on people and detonates them in public places then it's a bad thing. Israel does it and everyone stands, claps and tips everyone with $100% bills.

Edit: I honestly wonder if it's only a matter of time before some IDF or Mossad shithead hijacks a plane and flies it into the Burj Khalifa.

Oooooohhh... So thaaaaat's what Bush meant. They just had a bunch of machine guns and they had to get rid of them.

(Seriously? "WMD" should be reserved for chemical, gas, biological or nuclear destructive devices.)

Welp, so much for the so-called pinnacle of masculinity.

Furthermore, "RUNK" was originally made in the 1980s to take over from a program written on punch cards in the 1960s. Finally, it's missing some important functions that the original 60s program had because "RUNK"s developer doesn't see the purpose of those functions and refuses to add them; and no one has publically released a fork of "RUNK" that adds those functions back in, so you have to do it yourself. Thank God it's open source.

Edit: oh yeah, and back in 2005 there was an effort to make a GUI for it, but "RUNK's" sole developer got mad because "back in the 80s we didn't need GUIs; command line is infinitely faster" and kept intentionally breaking support for the GUI with each bug fix, leading to the project eventually being abandoned.

The 6-3 ruling penned by Trump appointee Amy Coney Barrett in Department of State v. Muñoz held that a citizen has no “fundamental liberty interest in her noncitizen spouse being admitted to the country,” denying a couple’s plea after a U.S. citizen’s husband was denied a visa.

Hold the fuck up, I thought visas were basically guaranteed to those married to US citizens. This seems like a pretty big deal, so why haven't I heard more about it?

Wow, who could have anticipated that kernel-level anti-cheat was a bad idea? It's like people haven't been warning that giving an increasing number of programs that level of access might be a Bad Idea.

My mental state using reddit vs lemmy.

Listen, I like lemmy, but it is turbo-doomer compared to Reddit. I think one of the biggest differences is that the smaller reddit communities that I'd use to escape the doomer shit like /r/furry_irl or /r/polandball just don't really exist here.

Just a reminder: that there was no one living in the Falklands prior to the UK and France showing up. My understanding is that no one even wanted the islands until they found oil nearby. While it's weird that the UK has a colony all the way down at the tip of South America, there's no reason to argue for Argentinian ownership of the Falklands. Hell, Argentina taking ownership of the Falklands is more colonialist than UK maintaining ownership due to the population being mostly British and French.
