Lack of socializing. We’ve lost the third place in modern society. It’s work and home and nothing else. Lots of people work from home now, which is great, but only if you have a third place. You have to meet people in the real world and find a way to connect with them.

People laugh, but churches are a good way to do that. Check one out, sit in the back, and watch the people who show up- the demographics, make sure the congregation is diverse, etc. If you see a same-sex couple walk in and sit down like they’ve done it a hundred times, you don’t have to worry about all the hate bullshit.

Church is a great way to meet people in a place where everyone feels safe and accepted. They are extremely welcoming to newcomers. There are always activities and groups to join. Churches have been the third place for literally centuries.

Even if you have irreconcilable philosophical differences, check out a Unitarian church.

That would be up to the Supreme Court. What’s your level of confidence in them to enforce the law against billionaires these days?

Madness inflicting the nation as the mad king takes his throne. Trump isn’t even remotely equipped to handle this. I wonder what happens when the right turns on him.

Musk/Vance 2024? Or do they even wait that long? They could put Trump out to pasture in his golf courses and run the country. Maybe let one of his criminal cases play out. A state one they technically can’t control.

The rule of law is dead in America.

Shoplift food for your family or smoke an herb that comes from the ground, and you go to jail. Take bribes and destroy the country for your own greed and selfishness, and they praise you and make you immune to all consequences.

Peaceful protests were meant to be a compromise to warn that something worse was coming. Black Panthers. Weather Underground. IRA and Sinn Fein.

Effective peaceful movements had potentially violent components. The more radical elements disappeared and peaceful protests became useless.

Unions were a compromise. Before unions, you’d drag the factory owner into his front lawn and exact justice.

Immigrant workers in the US are the definition of essential workers. Many work hard agricultural jobs and take exploitatively low wages to do so.

There needs to be a reckoning after this election. The people making threats to election workers and officials just doing their jobs need to be investigated and prosecuted. These are domestic terrorists and should be treated as such.

There’s an alternate timeline where the non-profit side of the company won, Altman the Conman was booted and exposed, and OpenAI kept developing machine learning in a way that actually benefits actual use cases.

Cancer screenings approved by a doctor could be accurate enough to save so many lives and so much suffering through early detection.

Instead, Altman turned a promising technology into a meme stock with a product released too early to ever fix properly.

Someone tried to kill Trump at a rally. He still does rallies. Someone tried to kill Trump on a golf course. He still golfs.

Trump would rather be shot at again than have to face Harris on the debate stage. You quickly find out that bullies are actually cowards once you see someone stand up to them and punch them in the face.

Traditional instruction gave the same result as a bleeding edge ChatGPT tutorial bot. Imagine what would happen if a tiny fraction of the billions spent to develop this technology went into funding improved traditional instruction.

Better paid teachers, better resources, studies geared at optimizing traditional instruction, etc.

Move fast and break things was always a stupid goal. Turbocharging it with all this money is killing the tried and true options that actually produce results, while straining the power grid and worsening global warming.

Taking aim at his opponents, Walz told the audience of union members that “the only thing” Trump and his running mate, JD Vance, know about “working people” is “how to take advantage of them.”

While Republicans are still trying to come up with a goofy nickname for Harris, Walz is openly discussing class consciousness.

Even down to a caveman level, the role of a strong man was to be the protector of the tribe/family. Using your strength to protect others is what makes a strong man.

Inflicting your insecurities on others and feeding your ego by attacking vulnerable people are the actions of a bully, not a strong man.
