Hope he can make it to at least a million steps to bring down his per step cost below 10 cents.

Sounds good, best wishes bringing your game into cash flow. If you inspire others to be more active, you’ve already done a lot of good in the world.

My takeaway from that article is mostly that primate research is a big emotional topic for some people, and maybe tech writers shouldn’t write about medical research. Do you think it would be so interesting if it was done on mice? The primate research center in Davis has been there since 1962, and it’s always been controversial. Do you think they’ve just been twiddling their thumbs for 55 years waiting for Neuralink to come along? No, that shit is routine for them. They keep doing it because primate research is still an important step before human trials.

There is no need to ethically green light a medical procedure that is voluntary, of sound mind, and of one’s own will. It’s not your body. It’s not your life. People implant beads and magnets into their bodies and tattoo their faces. People hang themselves from meat hooks for fun. People get circumcised, and pierced. It’s all none of your business.

Yeah even a very efficient generator would probably use at least 90 gallons of gas to get 6 kW*weeks.

Agreed. I was thinking about prescriptions, not illegal drugs. But it’s clear with fentanyl and other prescription drugs that even that is not working. I think the government should be focused on purity, safety, and non-religious rehab. I don’t think the education part is really helping, except for websites like erowid.

But bodily autonomy only really covers ingesting. Perhaps that could make drug tests unconstitutional.

Fully augmented reality. Travel anywhere you can read the signs, and understand the language through subtitles and or earbuds.

Non-fixed precision robotics. Basically give a pair of robot arms a piece of wood and a dremel and it can make whatever shape, but for any tool/material.

A decentralized currency that is actually useful as currency.

A rental car that picks me up at the airport, and that I can just abandon when I’m done. I don’t mind driving I just don’t want to bother with the shuttles and parking.

Food delivery drones owned by the restaurant.

Cellular data everywhere (like starlink is working on). Ability to order an air drop of like 10 kg of food/supplies anywhere within ~200 miles of a city.

Abortion is important, but constitutional amendments are difficult so let’s make it count: bodily autonomy. This includes abortion but also assisted suicide, personal drug use, tattoos, gender reassignment, and much more.

Market rent is basically set by current home costs. Any long term owners who have 15+ year old tax base essentially get to pocket the difference due to lower property taxes. Any newer buyer who is renting can only cover costs.

Tap water is not really a for-profit enterprise. Even Metropolitan Water District of Southern California, though there are some well paid lawyers and engineers on staff, has to justify their rates and re-invest it all into water supply reliability. No shareholders making a profit on tap water.

UBI would not prevent landlords from profit. If we can afford to spend trillions on concrete bridges, we could build public housing in every city.

High dietary fiber like beer, veggies, or beans creates large amounts of gas, but meat is what makes it smell bad. In my opinion pork is the worst, beef is not great, and chicken is still bad but the least offensive. Eggs can be sulphuric. If you want to deodorize your farts try being vegetarian for 2 or 3 days.

Avos can bruise before they are soft. The bruises go sour before the whole fruit is soft. Most grocery stores absolutely abuse the fruits. Find a store that doesn’t. Look for a single layer, not a pyramid, heap, or pile. Costco keeps them in the flat boxes.

Anyway the restaurants buy them wholesale and they’re cared for in nice flat boxes so they can ripen beautifully.
