I’m not gonna fight you and I’m happy you’re getting the experience you want.

Consider getting a replacement while the battery is still in warranty.

I can’t help you with the budget. That’s not enough money to buy a laptop new with that particular functionality.

If you can tolerate getting something older (and your described use case doesn’t sound like it would prohibit an older device!), thinkpads, MacBooks and the like almost always have removable wireless and Bluetooth modules.

These older devices are often a better choice than newer ones because they’re repairable and parts are plentiful and inexpensive. You will be much happier spending $200 on a used t480 or 2012 mbp than you will buying a new computer at that price.

You need to yank the antennas too if you’re really a paranoiac, but if a killswitch would be enough then you’re very clearly not that person.

You need a new battery. Don’t try to fix the problem. Replace the battery.

They aren’t proprietary, they’re Bluetooth.

Pair them with your computer and they’ll work.

Do not use ai for plant identification if it actually matters what the plant is.

Just so ppl see this:

DO NOT EVER USE AI FOR PLANT IDENTIFICATION IN CASES WHERE THERE ARE CONSEQUENCES TO FAILURE.

For walking along and seeing what something is, that’s fine. No big deal if it tells you something’s a turkey oak when it’s actually a pin oak.

If you’re gonna eat it or think it might be toxic or poisonous to you, if you want to find out what your pet or livestock ate, if you in any way could suffer consequences from misidentification: do not rely on ai.

~Things people don’t want to know~

Putting a layer of tissue between your butt and the toilet seat doesnt provide enough of a barrier against microorganisms over the time it takes to shit or piss to prevent transmission.

Keeping the air dry reduces both the length of time microorganisms can live outside your body and the length of time that vapor particles can harbor them.

The n95 (and other) rating(s) are over time in free, circulating, open air. Derate safe exposure time sharply for use inside or in spaces with stagnant or unmoving air.
