Yeah, I was being trite but still there is a reason. Idle doesn’t mean doing nothing. Perhaps it’s obscure, perhaps as impenetrable as some combination of machine state and number of milliseconds since 1970 being an even number. But you could try to track it down.

And sometimes the easiest thing is to reinstall from scratch.

Nothing crashes for no reason. Until you identify the reason, you’re employing stochastic problem solving.

Also depends where you go. We paid £13 at Asda. Pays to shop around.

That has a little too much rhythm for me. I’d recommend some Fushitsusha

Reminds me of when the BBC show Have I Got News For You replaced Roy Hattersley with a tub of lard after he failed to show up. Good times.

Just use Reader view or whatever that’s called in your browser. I use Arctic for Lemmy on iOS and it has a ‘default to reader’ for opening links. Can’t remember the last time I saw a paywall. There’s one news site that doesn’t work but it’s pretty obvious straight away.

Does this have anything to do with Conan O’Brien? There’s a clue there in that URL…

Well, I used a bit of poetic licence but there’s a case near me in the midlands in which the land owner has been forced to go to the high court (at his own expense) to get any chance of compensation. The tactics being used by hs2 and the Secretary of State are to frighten people into non-action. That is the leg of hs2 that is still (currently) going ahead.

But I’d eat my manky dog-walking hat if it’s the only example in the country.

Atheist really means a definite belief that there is no god. Agnostic is less ‘strong’, asserting that it's impossible to know how the universe was created and whether or not divine beings exist.

One approach I’ve seen (from a user pov, not dev, so I’ve no idea of the code bloat it might cause) is to pass the API version number in the call. Then your api can be backwards compatible for 2 or 3 versions, giving other users time to upgrade their code. It de-couples things to give you all a bit of slack for both rapid iteration and stability.

But it also depends on the ‘contract’ between you and the users so be very clear how long / how many versions will be available. Probably will involve a ‘use by’ date.

Truckers are a different story and should be separated from the day to days if average car users

Why not also move freight by train and use smaller delivery vehicles at the destination?

Sorry, this was a reply to someone elsewhere, but testing out Mlem and it ended up as a top level comment. Wonder if this one will too…
