Attempt at organizing said drawer of ours

Since others have shared a lot of recipes, I'm just popping in to say that drinking a lot of water and adding electrolytes is extremely important on this diet. For real, it's not something you wanna FAFO about, because you'll feel like absolute shit.

There are online calculators you can use to input your age, height, weight, etc, and determine how much water you need to drink. Just don't forget the electrolytes!

If it helps, this is what I use (it's a bit cheaper on Amazon but I really like the company so I order direct).

Also, if you want to track your calories/carb intake, I recommend an app called Cronometer (google play link here).

Best of luck! I've been on keto for years now (hopping off now and then around the holidays) and can't recommend it enough.

My doctor said something similar.

But after years of me being on keto, losing 167lbs, having an "absolutely fantastic health record" and the "healthiest bloodwork" he's ever seen (his words), plus significant improvement in mood, memory, and mobility, and a significant reduction/elimination of pain and inflammation, he changed his mind.

He even said that most of the content he had heard or read when saying it was "a bad diet" all those years ago was "completely biased" and "worded very slyly" (also his words). After revisiting those sources, he realized they "weren't actually describing real keto, just people eating a ton of fat" (which is not what keto is), "and crying about how bad fat is" (again, his words... which made me LOL). Also, mega bonus points for him - he actually checked into the sources and found that most of them were funded by the sugar industry.

It takes nothing to realize you're wrong; for some people, it takes a lot to admit it. He had no problem doing so, and even recommends the diet to other patients now.

Hahaha my god you should make a collage out of those photos of her, I'd love to see these.

Also, sorry for what you went through. My birth mother is a narcissist, so I can relate. It can be quite liberating to have fun at their expense, though!

  1. Meditating (not very good at it, but getting better and it's seriously helping)
  2. Blocking Reddit on my router, blocking political communities in Lemmy
  3. A consistent, normal sleeping schedule (a bedtime routine is more important than a morning routine, imo)
  4. Yoga every morning to help my body work with me throughout the day
  5. Reading more books
  6. Getting outside more often
  7. Paying closer attention to the thoughts that cross through my mind and stopping them when they're not helpful - this also helped me realize the underlying anxiety that's been with me for who knows how many years
  8. Drinking more water

Edit: Oh I also:

  • Quit drinking alcohol, almost at the 1 year mark
  • Quit smoking weed, almost at 2 months fully sober now

I did these things one at a time, not everything at once. Mostly just sharing what I did here, but if you plan to do the same - listen to yourself. Start with #7 imo so you get a better idea of what you're up against. If it feels like too much, take a step back and slow down. You're not failing when you do this, you're helping your future self not fail entirely.

Yeah wouldn't it also be like super cold inside from the temp not being 72F prior to them entering? I mean if it was cold enough to freeze the pipes and all, seems like just they'd be able to tell what's what as soon as they opened* the door.

Edit: Fixed a typo

Yeah screenshots would be great. Dug through the post history a bit and only found one other "It happened again" post, no ss, gave up on locating the original after a few pages. I did find this one where OP might have clicked a potential suspicious link, which could be related.

Also curious to know if it's just a visual glitch or if OP actually has full access to another user's account, like inbox messages, ability to make posts as them, upvote/downvote, etc.

OP, I recommend downloading a screen recording app and recording your logins on the off-chance it does happen again.

I blacklisted the site on my router, worked like a charm. Am much happier without it!

My landlord is really awesome, I didn't realize tipping them was a thing we should do. What's the etiquette for this? Monthly? Only when a service is needed? Etc

Can't believe I'm about to say this, but hear me out ... take a gander at "How to Win Friends and Influence People".

For the record, every time someone mentioned this to me, I'd cringe with disgust. I avoided it for most of my life because I viewed the content as a way to manipulate people. And yeah, maybe it kinda is, but at its core, it explains human psychology and the way our brains really work. We're just kinda selfish, ya know? Most of us need to get before we even think about giving. We've got a lot to worry about and too much to focus on sometimes.

Idk, maybe there are better books out there, better references, etc. But that book helped me with a lot of my social issues, improved relationships with my coworkers, etc. To me, it's more than just a "Tell them why they want it before even asking them" type of thing, it helped me understand the other person's point of view better, helped me empathize with their needs before charging through, full speed ahead. Instead of thinking "this is a really good idea, everyone should back me", I think more about how it would actually benefit others instead of "this is what I want, we should do it".

Forgive my oldness here, I'm assuming it's a smart watch.

I use this app for several alarms all day long to remind me to eat and drink. I even purchased the premium because it has a lot of neat options.

Alarm Clock Beyond: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sentryapplications.alarmclock

I began ignoring the water alarms overtime, so I bought this water bottle that lights up when it's time to drink.

fetal bovine serum (FBS)... is derived from the blood of calf fetuses after their pregnant mothers are slaughtered by the meat or dairy industry.

I did not know this... and after reading the wiki, I found it rather disturbing...

The first stage of the production process for FBS is the harvesting of blood from the bovine fetus after the fetus is removed from the slaughtered cow. The fetus dies from the lack of oxygen by remaining in the protective environment of the uterus for a minimum of 15–20 minutes after the cow is dead...
