I’ve been getting some spam comments (with Images I’d rather not see) and even after blocking the people I still see them in my inbox. I’d rather not.

Should I open a bug report for this or what’s the best way to approach this?

Edit: I’ve opened up an issue here.

I‘m assuming this isn’t exclusive to voyager, but I‘ve been getting some spam comments lately and even if I block/report the people the messages are still visible in my inbox (with some unpleasant images). Any way to avoid that?

We estimate that by 2025, Signal will require approximately $50 million dollars a year to operate—and this is very lean compared to other popular messaging apps that don’t respect your privacy.

TL;DR: Tumblr is discontinuing its Post Plus feature, allowing creators to charge for content, starting December 1st. This decision follows a leaked memo about downsizing due to struggles in meeting usage and revenue targets. Post Plus, introduced in 2021, didn't meet expectations, leading to its discontinuation. Existing Post Plus content will be private from January 2024, and creators can't produce new Post Plus content. Tipping will remain, but the future of Blaze, the sponsored post feature, is uncertain. Disney and Warner Bros Discovery have suspended advertising on Twitter/X too.

You can convert the video with an App called Spatialify (TestFlight)

TL;DR: Apple's upcoming iOS 18, macOS 15, watchOS 11, and tvOS 18 updates are expected to be "ambitious and compelling," featuring generative AI improvements, especially in Siri. The revamped Siri may offer enhanced integration with Messages, auto-generated Apple Music playlists, and productivity app integration. Apple is investing $1 billion annually in AI research, aiming to compete with Google and OpenAI. The company is debating whether to deploy the new AI technology via the cloud, on-device, or a combination. (via ChatGPT)

Quoting the beginning of the article:

Let me introduce you to WordStar 4.0, a popular word processor from the early 80s. As old as it seems, George R.R. Martin used it to write “A Song of Ice and Fire”.

Why would someone use such an old piece of software to write over 5,000 pages? I love how he puts it:

It does everything I want a word processing program to do and it doesn't do anything else. I don't want any help. I hate some of these modern systems where you type up a lowercase letter and it becomes a capital. I don't want a capital, if I'd wanted a capital, I would have typed the capital. – George R. R. Martin

I made the mistake of commenting on this post where people clearly think that the Hamas are the good guys and have every right to do what they do. Apologies for linking to it.

The word is meaningless, nothing like the metaverse as described in snowcrash ever existed. If you’re talking about a multiplayer game that tries to mimic the real word then you’re right. But that’s not what the metaverse actually is…or what the word stood for, before being ripped to shreds as a buzzword.

As I understand it, there was a deal between Meta and Elijia to specifically promote the App at Meta Connect, Meta called it off after hearing they were in talks with Pico & Apple.

Sounds to me like this might be purely about the additional promotion (and apparently additional payments), not about banning the App in general. But that‘s somewhat unclear to me.

Meta canceled his AEI Fitness app days before its unveiling at Meta Connect, the world’s biggest VR conference, Elijah says. He says the conference would have propelled it to the top of the VR fitness app market, eventually reaping him tens of millions of dollars. […] But while preparing to be part of Chief Executive Officer Mark Zuckerberg’s keynote, he says, he was told, “‘No, the project’s killed, we’re not giving you your money.’”

There will definitely be games and apps available on both platforms, some have already been announced (Rec Room, Demeo).

TL;DR: Apple patched 3 iOS zero-days used to infect an Egyptian presidential candidate's iPhone with spyware. The attack used HTTP, involved the Egyptian government, and relied on Predator spyware. These vulnerabilities are fixed in iOS versions 16.7 and iOS 17.0.1.

ChatGPT is getting the entire website and is supposed to summarize the article on it. The article has nothing to do with cookies or privacy settings.

This post isn’t about the shortcut, it‘s just linked for reference. If you take a look at what the shortcut produced it’s not exactly an endorsement.

*as long as said friends all have the newest iPhone

Definitely nice to see the ultrawideband max distance increase

John Gruber made a shortcut that triggers mute if the device is laying face down on the table and otherwise launches the camera: shortcut.

Edit, small hint: Actions App is required to detect the face down orientation.

Not saying it’s sustainable (it isn’t), but Amazon has an insanely high turnover rate, partially because new employees bring a fresh perspective and new ideas. It brings new energy and creativity.

Ofc Amazon achieves that turnover rate by treating people like shit and sooner or later they’ll run out of new people.

Haha, I like this part:

[…] Gates responded: "Well, Steve, I think there's more than one way of looking at it. I think it's more like we both had this rich neighbor named Xerox and I broke into his house to steal the TV set and found out that you had already stolen it."

Here’s a shorter summary:

Donald Trump sold his Florida Mar-a-Lago residence on August 4, but there's speculation he transferred ownership to his son. The property was listed for $422 million and is now owned by a company linked to his eldest son. This sale timing has raised questions. Trump faces legal issues related to the 2020 election but remains popular among Republicans in polls.

I’ve gone more and more back to apples original apps for that reason. Reminders, Notes, Mail, … Many have gotten a lot better and they have the advantage of being (more or less) continuously updated and completely free, if you don’t count the millions you spend on their hardware ~(つˆ0ˆ)つ。☆
