For me, that would be Flatout 2 - more debris and stuff flying around but same great racing in some ways.

I tried to think of something funny to add to this, but all I could think of was "javascript".

Imagine trying to quantify the amount of joy either of those men brought into the world. Huuuuge amounts. :)

At least you know it's somewhere in the fridge section, yah?

But I'm sure everyone has done that while looking for something and it is not cool.

I hate how these kinds of messages never explain WHY. It's just "Do it. Do what we tell you." 💀

Hey, something like 10 dogs walk past my home every day and I swear something like 6 of 10 are Bernedoodles. Unscientific, I know but my sister got one too. So, it seems too frequent to be a coincidence.

Does anyone here know why this breed is so popular in the last few years?

My guess: since I live in a conservative place (in the USA) someone famous got one, or said they're great dogs for "patriots" to own. (/smh)

But thanks for any ideas. I searched around but all I got were those BS filled, "What you should know about the Bernedoodle" pages, saying dumb stuff like, "Bernedoodles have quickly gained popularity due to their cuddly nature and lovable personalities". I bet there's something else going on here.

We pay to go to a live show. The crowd is excited to see the artist. You can feel it in the air. They appear on stage, plug in, start with a quiet but heartfelt acoustic number.

And 600 people keep their conversations going.

What. The. Hell. People?

Between songs, the artist makes polite but vague statements about how even with the PA, he can't compete with all that noise.

They keep talking.

Grrrrrrr...

I'm a fan of WFMU, a user-supported, ad-free radio station in New Jersey (USA) in general, but this specific program seems like a good fit for this community. It's not just about privacy but that's a really common topic.

It's described as:

Conversations with creators and thinkers who are charting the way forward in a tech-saturated society. In our shift to a digital future, we need alternatives to Big Tech. Homepage: techtonic.fm

They talk to authors of books, talk about big tech anti-trust trials and so on. Check it out. You can stream the last 7 years worth of shows for free from the provided link.

Videos (part 1 and part 2) just released for public viewing this week.

Grace Hopper (December 9, 1906 – January 1, 1992) was an American computer scientist, mathematician, and United States Navy rear admiral. She was a pioneer of computer programming. Hopper was the first to devise the theory of machine-independent programming languages, and used this theory to develop the FLOW-MATIC programming language and COBOL, an early high-level programming language still in use today. She was also one of the first programmers on the Harvard Mark I computer. She is credited with writing the first computer manual, "A Manual of Operation for the Automatic Sequence Controlled Calculator."

If body cams get cheaper and cheaper, companies might start asking more people to wear them while working.

E.g.: https://coloradosun.com/2024/07/31/youth-corrections-audio-surveillance/

I could see this for ~~doctors~~, at restaurants, ~~stores,~~, etc... eventually.

Are you ready to wear one?

EDIT TO ADD: A few people said this wouldn't ever make sense for doctors (privacy laws) or for fixed locations (stores). I should have thought of that.

But what about Uber / bus drivers, or repair people who go into homes? I can imagine a large corporation thinking a cam is a good idea, for their own CYA (not for the customers' or the employees').

Also I don't like this idea either, to be clear. I was mostly playing devil's advocate here to see what you all think. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Pretty much what I expected, tbh

From Robot Entertainment, of course.

If Donald Trump is re-elected president in November, a coalition of more than 50 right-wing organizations known as Project 2025 will be ready with a plug-and-play plan for him to follow, starting with a database of potential administration appointees carefully vetted by coalition members; an online “Presidential Administration Academy” run by coalition members to school new appointees; and a 920-page policy platform called Mandate for Leadership: The Conservative Promise.

That title is so confusing. Why are they connecting the shooting of this mayor with the election of the president?
