Starship Troopers is Heinlein not Dick, and it's fascist nonsense. Verhoeven was right to throw the book in the bin after two chapters and the movie rules.

Reddit feels like a weirdly dead place. Depending on the sub, there can be a lot of posts and comments but it's very hard to engage with. You need to comment early and what conversation there is decays very early. A lot of it is fake too, with bots stealing comments to repost.

It's a little bit better on smaller subs, but Reddit has a way of funneling everything into a larger subs if there is one for a topic, so outside of niche topics they tend to be ghost towns.

Lemmy is more like a small, weird forum. It's hardly perfect but at least it doesn't feel like a bunch of chat bots talking to each other.

Eh, yes and no. It might help illustrate the limitations of testing for some people, but it's not really telling us anything new about them. It is meant to cheaply provide an indication of how a student is fairing and has never been considered by anyone serious as some kind of comprehensive measure of intelligence. Their flaws have been known for a long time.

It Takes Two would be my introduction for a partner who doesn't game very much. Co-op, easy to play, fun in a really low stakes way with a great story. I had tons of fun with the game playing with an ex.

Raft is another I played with an ex that was a lot of fun. It's a very chill co-op survival game where you build up your boat.

$200,000 for a 1 Bed 1 Bath with an hour and a half commute to the city. It's a unit, so probably has a bunch of other fees attached for upkeep but they aren't listed. Area is far away from necessary services, highly car dependent and notoriously crime ridden. The unit is run down and requires renovations.

Double that for a 2 Bed 1 Bath in a similar area.

Citizen Sleeper - From the same publisher as The Pale Beyond, it's another one of those story games that borders on visual novels. It's a game about precarity and personhood set on an anarchic, decaying space station. Gorgeous art, fantastic soundtrack and it's uniquely hopeful. Might be favourite game of the last few years.

For women: I like women a bit older than me, I like plus sized women, I like slightly deeper voices, I like flat women, I like a chubby uhhh "mons pubis", I like muscle women, I like pubic hair. There are so many, often contradictory, things I like that are broadly considered imperfections. Frankly, I just like women who aren't the typical beauty standard.

For men: I like anything that softens them, makes them seem less aggressive. Some of these are pretty common (e.g., "twinks") but I also like chubby men, short men, long hair and so on. It's less broad than things I'm into with women and has a definite reason rather than being a seemingly random assortment of things.

That's just physically as well. Wealth is a turn off, being really into fitness is a turn off, overly ambitious is a turn off (particularly for work). I like cozy introverts who just want to be content with life.

Going with the just de-age interpretation and not time travel, it has to be late enough I could still pass for an adult but I'd want it before any of my chronic health conditions emerge so I can mitigate them. I don't want to look younger, I just want the health benefits.

I can't go back to being a kid because where the hell would new identity documents come from? I still have to be able to live my current life more or less. I suppose 35 is the absolute minimum for me to take it, at 15 I wasn't getting carded buying alcohol. I reckon at that age with the right presentation I could pass for 20 at least, and a 35 year old seeming that young isn't completely unheard of.

I can't go too much older because issues start compounding in my 20s. I'd love to have picked a post development age - aside from my health, I didn't really get comfortable in my own skin until then - but it'd be too late. Maybe 40 so the worst of puberty is over, but that's probably my limit.

I've had two work from home positions - one basically a call center position, the other was an admin clerk job. I got both through what is effectively a recruitment agency.

KOTOR 2 - Has quite a few pain points for me, usually when they make you swap characters, but by far the longest stretch that makes me reconsider replaying is the surface of Telos. It's just a bore until you reach Atris and feels like it takes forever.

I actually like Pergaus outside of the T3 part though, which I guess makes me a KOTOR 2 heretic. The atmosphere and mystery is just fantastically done.
