Pointless points. It's a rounding error in the grand scheme of things. You're just a fossil fuel shill.

"Land use is the main contributor to biodiversity loss"

Is that not a quote from what is being talked about.

How much of land use that is contributing to biodiversity loss is solar panels and wind? How much is energy in total?

It's fuck all. So yea that is relevant.

[-] Wanderer@lemm.ee -4 points 4 days ago

Could you compare it to land used for livestock or car parks or low density housing?

If we went 100% solar is that even noticeable compared to mentioned above.

You just making excuses.

If you people people on puberty blockers when they are going through development it will fuck up their body and they won't develop the way they are meant to.

Its not like it is reversible. If some guy takes puberty blockers from 12-18 there is no way he is going to develop in the man he would have without the blockers. Same for women. It stunts their development.

Fucking hell state of the world.

Someone can dislike a woman without being misogynistic. Calling every guy that dislikes any particular woman misogynistic is just sexist. Don't be scared of offending sexists.

"the Alphabet-owned company has been allowed to deploy an unlimited number of robotaxis for paid driverless rides in the city [San Francisco] at all hours. In March, state regulators allowed the company to expand its commercial ride-hailing to 22 Peninsula cities.

Now, Waymo officials are declaring victory after a year of commercial driverless service without any serious incidents and say it gives them confidence to speed up their robotaxi expansion.

David Margines, Waymo’s director of product management, said in an interview that the company’s one-year track record in San Francisco “is a validation” that its robotaxis can “drive safely” and “coexist in the communities that we want to operate in.”

“Looking back over the year, I’m thrilled to say that it’s been a big success,” he said."

"Waymo regularly takes its autonomous vehicles on winter road trips to test the cars in snowy environments. In 2017, it was Michigan.

This year, Waymo will hit multiple wintry locales, including Truckee, California; Upstate New York; and Michigan, from the Upper Peninsula to the metro Detroit area"

Seen this on reddit and thought it was an interesting question that largely is not talked about.

It is largely an issue that gets sidelined and hidden because people don't want to talk about it or accept that it exists. Hopefully this gets some traction to break that marginalisation.

"There is no evidence of a large rise in suicides in young patients attending a gender identity clinic in London, an independent review has found."

"Prof Appleby's review concludes "the data do not support the claim".

And he added that the way the issue had been discussed on social media was "insensitive, distressing and dangerous".

"A Department of Health and Social Care spokesperson said decisions on children's healthcare must follow the evidence at all times."

In the UK there was a peaceful protester and the Chinese dragged him into the embassy grounds and beat him in front of the public. They have diplomatic immunity.

Nothing was done obviously.

No wonder China and Russia shit over us and act like we are weak. We are. We proved it multiple times.

Fuck the West is shadow of what it once was.

Analysis of Home Office data showed the impact of the shift from EU to non-EU migrants. Migrants from the Middle East, North Africa and Turkey aged 25-64 were almost twice as likely to be economically inactive as someone born in the UK.

Spanish migrants typically earned around 40pc more than migrants from Pakistan or Bangladesh, while migrants from countries such as Canada, Singapore and Australia paid between four and nine times as much income tax as migrants from Somalia or Pakistan.

I suck at spelling and would like to know a word I have typed is wrong or not. Ideally with a red underline.

I really struggle looking at text I have written and seeing the mistakes. I have tried Samsung, openboard, gboard. None seem to fix the issue.

I'm willing to download anything as long as it's not a privacy concern. Is there any way to get what I want.

I have a Samsung 22+ if that makes a difference

Glenrambo fixed it:

It's very fucked up what people perceived has healthy now.

I've been in fairly decent shape my whole life but the amount of people, especially women, that tell me I'm too skinny and that I need to gain weight. Even when I'm actually closer to being overweight than underweight. Or how many times I seen someone point to someone on steroids or fat and say that they are healthy.

It's got to the point where kids need to be educated. I wouldn't even be against weighing them. If they obese then it's also child abuse and the parents fault.

People think now if you can see/feel ribs or have any muscle tone (while not being a body builder) it means you're underweight. That's how humans are meant to be built! Go look at hunter gathers tribes or any active person pre the 90's.

Shit even dogs are fat nowadays.

Nobody can multi task. I wish this stupid myth would die.

[-] Wanderer@lemm.ee 73 points 11 months ago* (last edited 11 months ago)

Sometimes I think about how years ago parents would lie over their children's beds crying. Praying for a miracle because that is all that can save their child now is the work of God. They have see this before, heard the stories. Seen the other children die just recently. They know the pain, they know what is coming. They have done all they can. They sent for the doctor who said he won't be coming back as he has other patients to attend to, ones that might live. Yes they do what they can but it is all for nothing. They bury their child and go back home.

They sit there unable to cry anymore, the silence is broken from a cough in the younger child's room. They then pray to God that this is just a cold. God doesn't listen, God doesn't bring miracles. But man does. One day the work of God comes in the hands of the many and changes the suffering forever.

Sometimes I wonder what those people would say to us. I bet they would hate us for not taking something they would give their lives for.

Remember the glory that was 90's optimism.

30 years later I thought we would live in a better 90's.

Instead we live in a really shit future that's worse than even the 90s.
