"Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene's (R-Ga.) repeated social media claims that humans can control the weather — in the midst of a series of deadly hurricanes — is too much for some of her colleagues to handle."

"She thinks we have no impact on the climate but somehow control the weather," scoffed another House Republican.

Who is this House Republican? I legit want to give them a cookie.

Well its a house Republican that's too cowardly to have their name affixed to the idea that MTG, and a whole bunch of the Republican base by proxy, are pants-shittingly stupid.

So maybe spike that cookie with some exlax.

You know, that works, but I've heard that word only in two totally different contexts before.

As a term of endearment used by grandmas... and a self given nickname of a friend I used to have...

[-] irreticent@lemmy.world 2 points 4 days ago

nickname of a friend I used to have

Did you live in New Jack City?

[-] TheLowestStone@lemmy.world 44 points 4 days ago

You give a conservative a cookie and they're going to want a glass of milk. You give them a glass of milk and suddenly life saving health care is illegal.

[-] sp3tr4l@lemmy.zip 1 points 3 days ago

You give them a glass of milk and they throw it at you after tasting it, because it isn't raw and unpasteurized, and your glass of phony processed milk is trying to poison them.

I am so done with the misinformation and the lying and attacking. Republicans need to clean their shit up. I hope they get smacked fuckin hard this election. If not, they'll just say it's stolen. So everyone has to vote. We have to win in a landslide.

[-] GiddyGap@lemm.ee 55 points 4 days ago

I think it's pretty clear by now that Republicans, and certainly Trump, will say they won regardless of the election results.

[-] knightly@pawb.social 3 points 4 days ago

I'm tired of pretending like democracy means anything in this country when someone like Trump could have been considered a trustworthy candidate for any office since, what, the 80's?

[-] linearchaos@lemmy.world 52 points 4 days ago

"FFS Marjorie, we're PRETENDING not to know how things work as a strategy. " -- Some house member probably

[-] Carrolade@lemmy.world 45 points 4 days ago

You just need to decouple your tachyon emitters from the positronic relay and reroute some of the hyper-coolant from your warp core to the phase compensators. Pretty sure that either controls hurricanes or creates a black hole, one of the two.

[-] tiefling@lemmy.blahaj.zone 30 points 4 days ago* (last edited 4 days ago)

That's actually a dangerous misconception. Decoupling the tachyon emitters from the positronic relay without first isolating their quantum harmonics could destabilize the entire subspace field matrix and cause an exponential thermal feedback loop. Best case scenario is a massive thermal overload. Worst case is a catastrophic core breach resulting in a high energy failure. Are you TRYING to get us all killed?

I have a theoretical doctorate in physics, obviously

[-] TachyonTele@lemm.ee 13 points 4 days ago

This person it correct.

I have a username on Lemmy, before you ask.

Scotty would say it would take 4 hours but that he'll be able to get it done in 2 and then finish up in 1 hour and have an hour to himself.

[-] Semi_Hemi_Demigod@lemmy.world 6 points 4 days ago

That's how you know he's a miracle worker

[-] tiefling@lemmy.blahaj.zone 4 points 4 days ago

Spoken like a true engineer

[-] Semi_Hemi_Demigod@lemmy.world 9 points 4 days ago

This is clearly not a Starfleet approved procedure because at no time did you reverse the polarity

[-] klemptor@startrek.website 2 points 4 days ago

They didn't even bother with a phase shift smh

[-] RatsOffToYa@lemmy.world 8 points 4 days ago

Hey you! Back to TenForward!

[-] Volkditty@lemmy.world 8 points 4 days ago

You gonna do all that without even reversing the polarity of the deflector dish? Your funeral, man.

[-] talentedkiwi@sh.itjust.works 3 points 4 days ago

I'm pretty sure they just need the Rockwell Retro Encabulator to reduce that side fumbling.

[-] TachyonTele@lemm.ee 1 points 4 days ago

Do you mean Guy? He doesn't even have a last name!

**What they're saying: **Rep. Carlos Gimenez (R-Fla.), who represents a Hurricane-prone district in South Florida, replied to one of Greene's posts writing, "NEW FLASH —> Humans cannot create or control hurricanes."

  • "Anyone who thinks they can, needs to have their head examined," he added – a biting direct rebuke of a fellow House Republican.

Why yes please examine all of our Congressional heads. Also what da fk have they been ingesting? In the word of AvE, focus you f#k!
