... that's not what that snippet seems to be indicating.

[-] K1nsey6@lemmy.world 18 points 13 hours ago

She was an out of touch cunt like her husband

[-] socsa@piefed.social 33 points 15 hours ago

Is there honestly anything more cringe than Texas?

[-] BonesOfTheMoon@lemmy.world 19 points 15 hours ago

Missouri, Alabama, Tennessee, South Carolina, Utah, Oklahoma......

[-] Wogi@lemmy.world 16 points 12 hours ago

I dunno. No state's population is so full of itself as Texas' is.

[-] BonesOfTheMoon@lemmy.world 3 points 11 hours ago

I'm told places like Austin are pretty progressive. I don't really know.

[-] femtech@midwest.social 4 points 6 hours ago

So is St.Louis, but it's still in Missouri.

[-] kboy101222@sh.itjust.works 8 points 10 hours ago

Austin is deeply up Austin's ass

[-] Chocrates@lemmy.world 5 points 10 hours ago* (last edited 10 hours ago)

Lol yes. And the state government goes out of its way to fuck with anything Austin does that is progressive.

Also it's full of fucking NIMBYs, just look at the camping bans.

[-] kboy101222@sh.itjust.works 3 points 9 hours ago

Everyone I've met there has been just the most insufferable uber liberal mother fucker. They'll talk about how bad people of color are treated at one moment and then call the cops when they see a black person moving in the next. Like you said, it's NIMBY central. Even people from Houston are less insufferable

[-] chiliedogg@lemmy.world 1 points 10 hours ago

I work in the Austin area and have to drive 90 minutes to work because the housing prices in Austin have tripled in the last few years.

[-] MossyFeathers@pawb.social 1 points 11 hours ago

Depends on what part of Texas you're talking about. Also, a lot of "Texas pride" is supposed to be somewhat tongue-in-cheek.

[-] tacosanonymous@lemm.ee 7 points 13 hours ago

Really expected Mississippi to be at the top of the list.

[-] BonesOfTheMoon@lemmy.world 3 points 12 hours ago

Oh dang yes. The very first.

[-] Atelopus-zeteki@fedia.io 11 points 15 hours ago

Yes, wealthy people, like Barbara Bush, existing, and commenting on things about which they have zero knowledge.

[-] dohpaz42@lemmy.world 4 points 14 hours ago

You forgot North Carolina.

[-] BonesOfTheMoon@lemmy.world 6 points 14 hours ago

It has some very cool artists there though. I won't write it off entirely. I lived there many years ago.

[-] dohpaz42@lemmy.world 9 points 14 hours ago

Non-politically, it’s a great state. Very beautiful; demure even. It’s the shitheads in charge that ruin it for everyone.

[-] FlashMobOfOne@lemmy.world 24 points 14 hours ago

Fucking rich people and their stupid fucking mouths wagging.

Awful.

[-] Worx@lemmynsfw.com 12 points 15 hours ago

It technically could be true, but it also sounds insane. I might be in a minority, but I hope my house (and entire city) doesn't get destroyed by a hurricane, even if I got to stay in a 5-star hotel afterward

[-] BonesOfTheMoon@lemmy.world 11 points 15 hours ago

Yes because you totally want all your possessions and neighbourhood washed away just so you can live on the charity of the Ritz Carlton until they get sick of being helpful.

[-] sunzu2@thebrainbin.org 4 points 14 hours ago

The rich think them taking a piss on your face is them doing charity.

[-] Maggoty@lemmy.world 3 points 13 hours ago

How would the orphans even survive if we didn't have workhouses for them though!?!

His statement did. He did not.

As the wine ages, the cask rots. We already got the wine - what remains is garbage.
