Congratulations on your new brain chemistry. Its such an amazing feeling, and i hope you'll find out a lot of new things about yourself. For me I feel like I got my sense of self back like I remember myself from 20 years ago. For far too long I feel like I've been on autopilot, trapped in a constant fight for my own attention that has been stolen from me. I've been medicated for a year now in my late 20's and I feel so happy.

But remember this, when it inevitably becomes the new norm and you have a difficult day. You still have ADHD. The meds will never remove that. But you now have better tools to fight back what is rightfully yours, namely your attention. Remember to take a break sometimes and just ride the ADHD for a day or two when the meds are not working as they should for whatever reason. It'll bounce back and you will find out you are so much stronger that you used to be over all.

Be kind to yourself.

Totally fair points. But if it is supposed to be for poor areas patenting the system seems like a counter productive choice. Yes chains are cheap but so would a new manufacturing process for belt drives be. The gears for belt drive can be cast from composite plastics making them relatively cheap. Old fasion belt splicing kits exist as well and could be implemented if you really wanted to avoid the split frame or they could develop a simple split frame conversion kit where you can cut out a section and clamp it back together with a bracket. It doesn't have to as complicated as one might think. Most of the conversion kits today are expensive because they also needs to look good and fancy, but for rural areas funktion is king and it could be made much simpler with two bracket and 6 bolts clamping the frame together. I just belive that belt has a lot more potential because it is really really durable and good for harsh environments with no lubricant needed.

A bit up front yes, but you can drive over 15.000 - 30.000km on a belt set with very little to no maintenance. And the price for belt drive is still coming down and is really price competitive already. I have belt drive on my bike and have done nothing to it at all for 3000 km and it still runs smoothly.

Use a belt drive instead. They are super strong and dont get elongated over time. ~~Otherwise use a shaft driven axle with oil submerged gears. That shit never breaks~~

Edit: i don't understand why people down vote? A well maintained bike chain can only run between 3000-8000 km at best and that's under good conditions. A belt drive can easily run 20.000 km and some stories of over 40.000 km and can run In mud and snow without trouble. It does not need any lubricant and only a little water to clean it now and then.

For shaft systems i see that they are less developed for bicykles. On motorbikes it's more common and it never breaks.

I really need som tips on how to avoid getting trapped by my own hyperfokusing.

I very often i get completely consumed by either youtube shorts or something similar and i loose complete sense of time and spends literally 5 hours on just doom scrolling and wasting time. The worst part is that I'm hyperly aware that I'm doing it the whole time and I really want to stop but I just won't shake myself off of it. I feel so bad because i should go walk the dog or go do my hobies instead. It happens the most often when I'm supposed to work from home and it makes the guilt feel even worse. If only I could do something for myself at least while not actually working. The only way I've found working so far is blocking the websites from me using blockers but I know that I'll just either circumvent them or find something else that's equally bad for me to hyperfokus on. And I do have legitimate reasons to use YouTube sometimes for work for tutorials etc so blocking it doesn't really work so well for me.

How do I get out when I find myself in that trapped state? Let me know how you are dealing with it.

I wanna add that I'm medicated with methylphenidate but it doesn't really work on getting out of the trap if I've first gotten in.

As a Dane i can say that maybe its because Scandinavians are generally pretty tech savvy and good with digitalisation. Also Scandinavians has a low tolerance for bullshit.

Kumpir is a traditional Turkish streetfood wich is based on a baked potato with cheese and toppings. In this case, the inside of the potato is mixed and mashed heavily with Gouda cheese and topped with olives, sweet corn, roasted sausage pieces, and salty pickles. Dressed with ketchup and mayo. Many different types of toppings exists, so very easy to make as you like.

What i find most stupid about all of this is that Air Canada could just have admitted a mistake, payed The refund of ~450 USD which is basically nothing to them. It would have waisted no one's time and made good customer service and positive feedback. Then quietly fix the AI in the background and move on. Instead they now spend waaayy more money on legale fees, expensive lawyers, employees sallery, have a disabled AI, customer backlash and bad press all costing them many hundreds of thousands of dollars. So stupid.

Just the fact she has to shoplift probably also means she has very little money or is struggling to get buy on her sallery. She's getting a baby soon and is maybe trying to save up because the US has no proper help to offer. Being shot and murdered by the police for a relatively harmles crime is beyond crazy for a society to accept. The policeman should be arrested for murder and abuse of power and Final put behind bars

[-] TDCN@feddit.dk 47 points 1 year ago

Isn't it kinda stupid of the police officer to put himself in that dangerous position. He could just as well have let her go and find her later or follow her. Trying to stop a car by standing in front of it is imo. just stupid and unprofessional.

ISPs are to me like infrastructure. They are like roads or power lines. If you ask the ISPs to block malicious activity it's like asking the electrical poweregrid to be responsible for stopping their electricity being used for illegal activity. Asking the ISPs to block malicious activity is like asking the road builders to be responsible for bankrobbers and murdere driving on the roads. It's simply just ridiculous to put the responsibility like that.
